Camp Julianna – A Week of Adventure and Growth
At Camp Julianna, every camper belongs to a unique unit focused on earning a specific badge, with unit names reflecting their badge theme—like Daisy Craft & Tinker. Throughout the week, campers dive into hands-on activities that help them achieve their badge, while also experiencing classic camp fun like craft shack and target sports (Daisies and Brownies try their aim with slingshots, while Juniors and older take on archery). Each day wraps up with Rainbow, a beloved camp tradition where campers of all ages build confidence in outdoor skills through age-appropriate activities. Whether it's exploring nature, learning new skills, or taking the first steps in leadership, Camp Julianna is where Girl Scouts grow, explore, and make memories that last a lifetime!

Leader in Action (LiA) – The First Step on Your Leadership Journey
Ready to take the first step toward becoming a camp leader? As a Leader in Action (LiA), you’ll still get to experience all the classic camp fun—archery, craft shack, and plenty of outdoor adventures—but you’ll also begin your leadership journey! Throughout the week, you’ll have multiple opportunities to work with one of the Brownie units, practicing and developing your leadership skills while guiding younger campers through activities.
LiA is the first step in a three-year leadership progression for Cadette campers:
-
6th Grade – Leader in Action (LiA): Enjoy camp while testing out leadership skills by working with younger campers.
-
7th Grade – Outdoor Skills: Focus on mastering outdoor skills and preparing for a leadership role.
-
8th Grade – Program Aide in Training (PAIT): Receive official Program Aide training and shadow an experienced PA before graduating into the role.
Once you’ve completed the journey, you can return as a Program Aide (PA)—the heart of camp! PAs lead songs, guide activities, and teach outdoor skills, ensuring that every camper has an unforgettable summer.
Your leadership journey starts here—are you ready?

Outdoor Skills – Level Up Your Leadership
Now that you've taken your first step as a Leader in Action (LiA), it’s time to hone your outdoor skills and grow as a leader! As part of the Outdoor Skills unit, you’ll spend your days mastering essential camp skills—fire building, outdoor cooking, shelter-making, navigation, and more. This unit is all about confidence, teamwork, and independence as you prepare for your next step in the leadership journey.
Unlike previous years, you won’t attend Rainbow—instead, you’ll focus on developing the knowledge and expertise needed to guide others. By the end of the week, you'll be ready to take on bigger leadership roles and prepare for the ultimate step: becoming a Program Aide in Training (PAIT)!

Program Aide in Training (PAIT) – Stepping Into Leadership
As a Program Aide in Training (PAIT), you’re ready to turn your skills into action! This week, you'll complete the official Girl Scout Program Aide training within a dynamic camp setting, learning how to lead activities, support younger campers, and bring the camp spirit to life.
Your training culminates with a shadow day, where you’ll pair up with an experienced Program Aide (PA) to see leadership in action. By the end of the week, you’ll be ready to graduate as a PA—fully prepared to take on a leadership role at camp next summer!

Program Aides (PAs) – The Heart of Camp
Program Aides are the lifeblood of camp—they lead the songs, guide the activities, and teach the outdoor skills that make camp unforgettable. As a high school-aged PA, you’ll put all your training into action, mentoring campers, running unit activities, and inspiring the next generation of Girl Scouts.
PAs are role models, leaders, and the reason campers return year after year. Whether you’re teaching fire building, leading a craft, or kicking off an all-camp game, you’ll leave a lasting impact on every camper you meet.
